Every Home for Christ is an international missions organization dedicated to the Great Commission. We believe that Jesus tasked us—His Church—to reach all people in every nation with the Gospel and to disciple them in His ways. Since 1946, Every Home for Christ has remained on a steady committed course toward this vision. In over 130 nations, we are actively equipping the local church to reach the lost with the Gospel and make disciples. The strategy is simple: Everybody lives somewhere, so just go where people live and systematically share the Gospel home to home. The results are incredible. In the last 5 years alone, we have reached over 400 million homes and followed-up to disciple over 70 million people who have responded to the Gospel.
We believe prayer is essential to reaching every home on earth with the Gospel. We have seen time and again that the degree to which we mobilize prayer is the degree to which our evangelism efforts grow and are fruitful. Thus, before a single Gospel message is put into the hands of any individual—before evangelism teams approach a single home—the work begins and continues with a commitment to prayer.
Concerted prayer covers every step, from training to outreach to discipleship. Some hold targeted prayer meetings while others prayer walk strategic locations, always praying that barriers to the Gospel will be removed, hearts will be prepared and many will respond to the gospel message.
This commitment to prayer crosses international boundaries. At Every Home for Christ’s international headquarters, the staff gathers to pray over these global initiatives each day, asking God to open doors in countries that are closed to His Word, to open minds to receive the Gospel and to protect Every Home for Christ workers around the world.
In the past decade, as Every Home for Christ has committed to continual prayer at the Jericho Center, there has been an incredible increase in the number of homes reached, responses to the Gospel and the number of Christ Groups planted.
The heartbeat of Every Home for Christ is to reach the world for Christ. We have found the most effective way to reach entire nations is to map out and visit every home, so that everyone has the opportunity to receive the Gospel. This systematic approach not only allows us to measure how much of a nation has been covered, but more importantly we are able to minister the Gospel personally, face to face.
This method of sharing the Gospel is highly effective and non-threatening. It allows for dialogue with those who are genuinely seeking God and the opportunity to pray for the needs of each household. By leaving gospel literature at each home, the Holy Spirit can minister in His timing as the messages are read and re-read and even passed along to others.
Historically, we have worked in around 200 nations, but never alone. Every Home for Christ always partners with the local church to do the work of evangelism and discipleship. Each month, we train and equip thousands of churches to systematically reach their communities for Christ. An average of 30,000 trained volunteers from local churches go home to home each month ministering the Gospel. In areas where there is no local church, we send trained “pioneer missionaries” to minister the Gospel. These local volunteers and pioneer missionaries have a heart for their nation, understand the local culture and speak the local language making them very effective ministers of the Gospel.
Making disciples of all nations requires commitment. That commitment is core to the ministry of Every Home for Christ and begins as soon a person responds to the Gospel. Just as we partner with the local church to evangelize communities, we also train the local church to disciple new believers. We believe the local church is God’s chosen instrument to both minister the Gospel and raise up strong disciples.
In areas where there is no local church—such as closed countries, remote locations or amongst unreached people groups—Every Home for Christ plants Christ Groups to carry out the work of discipleship. We believe so strongly in the local church that, where there is not a local expression of Christ’s body, we invest time, energy and resources to plant Christ Groups and raise up leaders. These groups worship, take communion, learn about the Bible, and fellowship together as they strengthen and encourage each other in their faith. Many times, Christ Groups will grow into larger churches, multiplying many times over.
